kindles (well, the 6-inch kindles) are down to $300.

that's ... a bit more tempting. weren't they like $450 when they started?

considering that FREAKING STORY i just spent nearly 2 weeks reading has twice the word count as the 3 LOTR novels... and it would have been niiiice to not have read that on a bright computer monitor.

and the dresden books can be bought for the kindle.

the clincher is still whether dear hubby (ahh the ravelry terms are in my vocab already!) can use it to read his... paper-thingies that he has to read all the time. hmmmmmm. *pokes him to check that*

Oh wait, I can read. the Kindle DX has a larger screen and a native PDF reader, where as the 6-inch has to get PDFs converted externally before they can be read. From what I can figure, the smaller kindle is half the size of a piece of notebook paper in totality, whereas the DX is nearly as big as a whole piece... And is $200 more expensive.


I'm still on the fence. But I feel more informed for having looked this up.

hah! it's a 'bike' that like 6 people can ride on at once! There's one guy who steers and faces forward, and then everyone else sits around the center bit, and everyone pedals (or at least everyone better pedal!).
